What does B2B eCommerce mean?
Business to Business Electronic Commerce — selling products or services through an online store between companies. Instead of selling to individual consumers, you sell to other businesses (retailers, distributors, resellers) typically at wholesale pricing with bulk minimums.
Can I sell both wholesale and retail from one store?
Yes — this is exactly what our B2B Shopify setup does. Retail customers see retail pricing. Wholesale customers (tagged in their account) see wholesale pricing on the same products. One store, two pricing systems, zero duplication.
How does wholesale pricing work?
Wholesale pricing is applied via customer tags. We tag your wholesale customers, and they automatically see their wholesale prices when logged in. You can offer percentage discounts (e.g. 30% off retail), fixed wholesale prices, or tiered pricing based on volume.
How do wholesale customers register?
Two options. (1) You bulk-import your existing wholesale customers with their tags applied, and send out invitations. (2) We add a wholesale signup form on your store where prospects apply — you review and approve them, and they get instant access to wholesale pricing.
Can I hide wholesale products from the public?
Yes. Using the Lock app, we can hide entire collections, individual products, or pages so only customers with the right tag can see them. The public browses your retail catalogue; wholesale buyers see the full range.
What about Net 15 / Net 30 payment terms?
Built-in. Wholesale customers can checkout on account (no payment required upfront), and you invoice them according to your terms. We also support deposits, custom payment methods per customer, and manual order entry.
Can I integrate with my accounting or ERP system?
Yes — Xero, Sage, SAP, QuickBooks, custom ERPs via API. We sync orders, customers, products and stock levels two-way. Talk to us about your specific stack and we'll scope the integration.
Which Shopify plan do I need for B2B?
Most B2B setups work on Shopify or Shopify Plus depending on the complexity. We use the Wholesale Helper or B2B/Wholesale Solution apps for standard Shopify. For complex B2B with company-level accounts, we recommend Shopify Plus.
