Shipping is the part of South African eCommerce that quietly eats your margin and your reputation. A failed delivery costs you the courier fee twice, a WhatsApp from an annoyed customer, and often the sale. Most store owners solve this by picking one courier, opening an account, and copying addresses into a waybill portal every morning. It works until it doesn’t.
Shiprazor is one of a handful of South African platforms built to replace that routine. One integration, one dashboard, a pool of couriers, and software that picks the courier per parcel. This review covers what it does, what it costs, which couriers are behind it, where it is weaker, and whether it fits your store. We have set up shipping for several hundred SA stores since 2014, so the questions here are the ones that come up in real onboarding calls.
Quick verdict
Worth a trial for most SA stores shipping 20 or more parcels a month. No subscription, a wider courier pool than the main local alternative, native Shopify and WooCommerce integrations, and the address-verification step alone can pay for itself. Rates are shown in the dashboard rather than on a public rate card, so test it against your current courier on your real routes before you move volume.
Best for: growing Shopify and WooCommerce stores that ship nationally and are tired of managing two or three courier accounts. Not for: stores shipping fewer than a handful of parcels a week, or stores with a negotiated courier contract that already beats aggregator rates.
What Shiprazor is
Shiprazor is a Cape Town shipping aggregator founded in May 2023 by Sahil Affriya, a former venture capitalist. The company sits between your store and a network of South African couriers. You connect your store once, orders flow into the Shiprazor dashboard, and each shipment is routed to a courier based on price, speed and that courier’s past performance on similar routes. Waybills, tracking and returns are handled in the same place.
The company is backed by venture money, which matters for a service your fulfilment depends on. In April 2026 it closed a US$2.65 million (roughly R44 million) seed round led by Norrsken22, taking total funding to about US$3.3 million. Earlier backers included Launch Africa Ventures and the founders of Peach Payments and Omnibiz.
The published scale numbers, as of mid-2026:
- More than 1.5 million deliveries processed across South Africa since launch
- Over 200,000 deliveries per month (figure from late 2025)
- More than 2,000 merchants
- Around 35,000 postal codes covered and 5,200 pickup and drop-off points
- Courier network described as 16+ on its own site and 20+ in the funding announcements
Treat those as company-reported. They have not been independently audited, but they are consistent across several announcements, and the Norrsken22 round suggests at least one serious investor did diligence on them.
How Shiprazor works day to day
The workflow is the part that decides whether a platform like this actually saves you time. Here is what the Shiprazor flow looks like for a typical Shopify or WooCommerce store.
1. Orders sync automatically
Install the Shopify app or the WooCommerce plugin, connect your store, and paid orders appear in the Shiprazor dashboard with customer, address and parcel details already filled in. No more copying from your order screen into a courier portal. This is the single biggest time saving and the reason most merchants switch.
2. Address verification catches bad data before dispatch
Wrong or incomplete addresses are the leading cause of failed deliveries in South Africa. Complexes without unit numbers, estates with a gate code nobody mentioned, “Main Road” in a town with four of them. Shiprazor checks the address at order stage and, where it looks incomplete, contacts the customer to fix it before a waybill is created. One Shopify reviewer specifically calls this out: no more following up with customers about their addresses because the system picks it up. The company is also building an AI-driven version of this as its first “agentic” feature off the back of the 2026 funding.
3. Courier selection per parcel
For each order the platform recommends a courier based on destination, parcel size and weight, urgency, and historical performance on that route. You can accept the recommendation or override it. You can also set preference rules by region, by shipping type, or by product category, so fragile items always go with one courier and Gauteng same-day always goes with another.
4. Waybills, collection and tracking
Waybills generate from the dashboard. Collections are booked from your address. Every shipment gets a tracking link that goes to the customer by email and WhatsApp, with status updates pulled directly from the courier. Tracking is included in the platform price rather than charged as an add-on.
5. Returns and support
Returns are managed in the same dashboard. On support, the three public Shopify reviews all mention responsiveness, and one merchant notes that Shiprazor follows up on problem parcels with the courier on their behalf. That is a meaningful difference from dealing with a courier’s call centre yourself.
Which couriers are in the Shiprazor network
The platform is only as useful as the couriers behind it. Shiprazor lists the following partners on its site. Coverage and service types vary by courier, so this table is a guide to what each one brings into the pool.
| Courier | What it adds to the pool |
|---|---|
| The Courier Guy | The default national door-to-door courier for most SA stores; broad branch network |
| Fastway | Cost-effective prepaid national courier, 30,000+ locations; now part of Aramex |
| Aramex | National and international; store-to-door options |
| Internet Express | National economy and overnight |
| SkyNet | National, strong on overnight |
| Courier It | National parcel courier |
| DKS | Regional and national coverage |
| Pargo | Pickup-point network (customers collect from a nearby shop) |
| PUDO | Smart lockers, flat-rate pricing, popular for low-value parcels |
| Uber (Connect / Direct) | On-demand same-day within metros |
| Bolt | On-demand same-day within metros |
| Breaze | Gauteng-only same-day with live tracking |
| Takealot Fulfilment Solutions (TFS) | Hyperlocal instant delivery within a 5 to 12 km radius; added through a 2026 partnership with the Takealot Group |
| FedEx | International express |
| Cloud Logistics | Regional partner |
Three things stand out in that list for SA merchants.
First, it covers all four delivery styles customers now expect: door-to-door, pickup point, locker, and same-day. Offering PUDO or Pargo as a cheaper checkout option alongside door delivery is one of the easiest conversion wins in SA eCommerce, and you get it from one integration rather than three.
Second, the same-day options (Uber, Bolt, Breaze, TFS) are metro-only. If your customers are in Polokwane or Upington the routing engine will fall back to the national couriers, which is fine, but do not read “same-day” on the marketing page as national.
Third, the partner list is the company’s own as of 2026 and it changes. The 20+ figure in the funding press suggests more have been added than the site lists. Ask for the current list when you onboard.
Shiprazor pricing: what it actually costs
This is the section where we have to be careful, because Shiprazor does not publish a rate card and we are not going to invent one.
What is confirmed from the company’s own pricing page:
- No monthly subscription. R0 per month, no setup fee, no contract.
- Pay per shipment. You are charged the courier rate for each parcel, with Shiprazor presenting discounted courier rates based on its aggregated volume.
- Unlimited shipments and access to all features, including tracking, returns and integrations, at no extra charge.
- Prepaid wallet. You top up a balance and shipments draw down from it. Card top-ups run through Peach Payments.
What is not published: the actual per-courier rate for a given parcel and route. Those are shown inside the dashboard when you book. That is normal for aggregators (Bob Go works the same way) but it means the only honest way to evaluate Shiprazor’s pricing is to run your own quotes.
How to test the rates properly
Pick your five most common lanes (for most SA stores that is something like Johannesburg to Cape Town, Johannesburg to Durban, intra-Gauteng, Cape Town to Johannesburg, and one regional town) and your two most common parcel profiles (say 2 kg and 10 kg). Get the quote for each from Shiprazor, from your current courier, and if you want a second aggregator benchmark, from Bob Go. Ten quotes, three sources, an hour of work. That table will tell you more than any review can.
Two things to watch in that comparison. One, the courier’s base rate is only part of the real cost. Add the cost of failed deliveries and re-attempts, the admin time per parcel, and the cost of customer service around “where is my order” queries. Aggregators often win on the second and third of those even when the base rate is close. Two, note that courier partners revised rates upward in 2026 on the back of fuel prices, so a quote from last year is not a benchmark.
If you want to see what shipping does to your margin on a typical sale, our eCommerce profit margin calculator lets you plug in your courier cost per order alongside gateway fees and platform costs.
Platform integrations
Shopify
Shiprazor has a listed Shopify app (free to install). It syncs orders, lets you set courier preferences and auto-allocate, and handles international orders. At the time of writing it holds a 5.0 rating from three reviews. Three is a small sample, so read that as “no complaints yet” rather than “proven at scale”.
WooCommerce
A WooCommerce integration is live. If you are on WooCommerce, read it alongside our guide to WooCommerce shipping in South Africa, which covers how checkout shipping rates are configured and what to do about the WooCommerce shipping zones that most SA stores set up wrong.
Magento and others
The company’s site lists a Magento integration as coming soon. If you run a custom platform, ask about API access before you commit; the marketing material focuses on the two big channels.
Shiprazor vs Bob Go
Bob Go (the rebranded uAfrica Shiplogic platform) is the aggregator most SA merchants already know, so this is the comparison people ask for. Both are free to install and pay-as-you-ship. The differences are in maturity and breadth.
| Shiprazor | Bob Go | |
|---|---|---|
| Founded | 2023, Cape Town | 2014 as uAfrica, Stellenbosch |
| Courier partners | 16+ listed, 20+ claimed | 10 listed on its Shopify app page |
| Same-day / on-demand | Uber, Bolt, Breaze, TFS | Limited |
| Pickup points / lockers | Pargo, PUDO | Pargo, PUDO, Bob Box |
| Subscription | None | None (pay as you go) |
| Shopify app rating | 5.0 (3 reviews) | 4.7 (36 reviews) |
| Address verification | Built in, customer contacted pre-dispatch | Address book and rule engine |
| Routing logic | Cost, speed and courier performance history | Rate comparison, rules |
Our read: Bob Go is the safer default if you want a platform with a decade of history and a large base of merchants who have already found the edge cases. Shiprazor is the stronger pick if you want the broadest courier pool, same-day options in the metros, and the address-check step. The honest answer for a store doing real volume is to run both on a trial and let the rate table decide. Neither charges you to look.
Things to check before you commit
None of these are deal-breakers. They are the questions we would ask on an onboarding call with any shipping platform, and Shiprazor’s team has been responsive to exactly this kind of question in the reviews we have seen.
Rates on your lanes. Shiprazor shows courier rates inside the dashboard rather than on a public rate card, which is standard for aggregators. Run the ten-quote comparison from the pricing section so you know where it lands for your routes and parcel sizes.
Shipment protection terms. Built-in protection is mentioned on the site; ask for the cover amount, exclusions and claim process in writing if you ship higher-value goods.
A fallback for the first few months. This applies to any platform you route all your dispatch through. Keep one direct courier login active while you settle in, so a rare outage on either side never stops a collection.
The company is three years old and well funded after its 2026 round, and its public reviews are few but consistently positive. If you ship at high volume, asking for a reference customer at your scale is a reasonable request.
Who should use Shiprazor
Good fit:
- Shopify or WooCommerce stores shipping 20 to 2,000 parcels a month nationally
- Stores currently juggling two or more courier accounts and portals
- Stores with a failed-delivery problem (the address verification step is aimed squarely at this)
- Metro-based stores that want to add same-day as a checkout option without a separate Uber Direct integration
- Stores that want to offer locker and pickup-point options alongside door delivery
Poor fit:
- Very low volume (a few parcels a week): the admin saving is real but small, and a single PUDO or Courier Guy account is simpler
- Stores with a negotiated courier contract whose rates already beat aggregator pricing (test, do not assume)
- High-value goods, until you have the shipment protection terms confirmed in writing
- Stores on a custom platform with no Shopify or WooCommerce layer, until API access is confirmed
Setting it up properly: our recommendations
If you decide to trial it, do these five things in the first week. They are the same things we do when we set up shipping for a client store.
- Run the ten-quote comparison described in the pricing section before you move any volume. Keep the spreadsheet; you will want it again in six months.
- Set courier preference rules immediately. Fragile and high-value goods to the courier with the best claims experience. Low-value small parcels to PUDO or Pargo. Gauteng and Cape Town same-day where the customer pays for it. Do not leave everything on “cheapest”.
- Turn on address verification and make sure the customer-contact messages carry your brand name, not a generic one. A message from “Shiprazor” confuses customers who bought from you.
- Configure checkout shipping rates to match. The aggregator books the parcel; your store’s checkout still decides what the customer is charged. If you offer PUDO at R60 and door-to-door at R99 at checkout, make sure the actual courier cost on those options leaves you a margin. Our guide to shipping and delivery for SA online stores covers the free-shipping threshold maths in detail.
- Keep one direct courier login alive for the first 90 days. If anything breaks on a Friday afternoon, you want to be able to book a collection without waiting for support.
The Shiprazor Partner Programme
In October 2026 Shiprazor launched a partner programme for agencies, consultants and businesses that already work with eCommerce merchants, paying out as referred merchants ship. We mention it for transparency: we received the announcement, and it is the kind of programme that can shape which platform an agency recommends. This review was researched and written independently and we have no commercial relationship with Shiprazor at the time of publishing. If that changes, this page will say so at the top.
Frequently asked questions
Is Shiprazor free?
There is no subscription or setup fee. You pay the courier rate per shipment from a prepaid wallet. All platform features, including tracking and returns, are included.
Which couriers does Shiprazor use?
The published list includes The Courier Guy, Fastway, Aramex, Internet Express, SkyNet, Courier It, DKS, Pargo, PUDO, Uber, Bolt, Breaze, Takealot Fulfilment Solutions, FedEx and Cloud Logistics. The network is described as 16+ on the site and 20+ in 2026 funding announcements.
Does Shiprazor work with Shopify?
Yes. There is a free Shopify app that syncs orders, applies courier preferences and auto-allocates shipments.
Does Shiprazor work with WooCommerce?
Yes, a WooCommerce integration is live. Magento is listed as coming soon.
Can Shiprazor ship internationally?
The company states 180+ countries through its international courier partners (FedEx and Aramex among them). Compare its rates against a direct account if international is a large share of your orders.
Is Shiprazor better than Bob Go?
It has a broader courier pool and stronger same-day and address-verification features. Bob Go has nine more years of operating history and a much larger review base. For a store with real volume, trial both and compare quotes on your own lanes.
Where is Shiprazor based?
Cape Town, at Airport Industria. The company was founded in May 2023.
Bottom line
Shiprazor is a credible, well-funded local option that solves the problem most SA stores actually have with shipping: too many portals, too many failed deliveries, too much admin per parcel. The zero-subscription model means the only cost of finding out whether it beats your current setup is an afternoon of quotes. Run that test. If the numbers hold on your lanes and the address verification cuts your failed-delivery rate, it earns its place in your stack.
If you would rather have someone else set up shipping, checkout rates and courier rules for your store and make sure the margin maths works, that is part of what we do. Request a quote and tell us what you ship and where it goes.
Facts in this review are drawn from Shiprazor’s own website, its Shopify app listing, and 2025 and 2026 press coverage of the company. Courier lists, pricing models and company figures change. Last checked October 2026.
